He never lifts his head. The strobe follows his tempo.
Busan, 2009. A nine-year-old drummed on his pillow with chopsticks, copying the drummer on TV. He still never lifts his head. Instead, every flash of the strobe follows his beat.
부산, 2009년. 아홉 살 꼬마는 젓가락으로 베개를 두드리며 TV 속 드러머를 따라 쳤다. 지금도 고개를 들지 않는다. 대신 모든 섬광이 그의 박자를 따른다.

You feel him before you hear him.
Eight years of cello in Chuncheon. The day he watched a bassist on a screen, he put down the bow. Five strings. The floor shakes first, then you hear it.
춘천에서 8년 동안 첼로를 켰다. 화면 속 베이시스트를 보던 날, 활을 내려놓았다. 다섯 줄. 바닥이 먼저 울리고, 그다음에 들린다.

Born in Incheon, to Fullerton at six. He learned English from the metalcore pouring out of the older kids' cars. 2019, the first night of the first show. His mask cracked. The crack grows a little longer with every show.
인천에서 태어나 여섯 살에 풀러턴으로. 형들 차에서 흘러나온 메탈코어로 영어를 배웠다. 2019년, 첫 무대 첫 밤. 가면에 금이 갔다. 금은 공연할 때마다 조금씩 길어진다.

Daejeon, a one-square-meter soundproof booth. One metronome, years of nothing but downpicking. On stage, too, he never moves a single step from his spot.
대전, 1제곱미터 방음 부스. 메트로놈 하나 켜고 다운피킹만 몇 년. 무대에서도 자기 자리를 한 발짝도 벗어나지 않는다.

Every solo is one note short.
He grew up in a repair shop at Nakwon Arcade. On the night of the first demo in 2019, his first string snapped mid-solo, and he never replaced it. But listen to the recording, and you can hear the missing note.
낙원상가 수리점에서 자랐다. 2019년 첫 데모 밤, 솔로 도중 1번 줄이 끊어졌고 그는 그 줄을 다시 갈지 않았다. 그런데 녹음을 들어보면, 그 빠진 음이 들린다.
